Tanya von Barnau Sythoff (b. 1959) is a Dutch artist from Berlin.

In the 1980s she completed her studies at AKI in Enschede and moved, after a period in the northern Italian region near Milan, to Amsterdam.

In 1988 she co-founded the artists initiative A.I.R. (Artist international Research), curating a number of its exhibitions (expo ergo sum).
Her works deals with the border between the private and the public in a variety of ways (drawing, linocut, painting, photography, installation). Her exhibition project Boudoir (1993) did not go unnoticed.
For United Nations extended (The Vienna Dialogue) she looks back to year 1972 when she lived in the Middle East with her family as her father, an officer, served with U.N.T.S.O.
